About UppLaunch

What this is

A new board opens every Monday. Makers submit what they built, the community upvotes, and the top three finish the week with a medal. Every launch gets its own page with a description, screenshots, a demo video and a link back to the maker’s site.

How ranking works

Position is decided by upvotes from signed-in accounts, with one vote per person per product. Makers cannot upvote their own launch — that is blocked in the interface and again in the database, so it cannot be worked around.

Paid launches are placed above free ones, and that is stated plainly rather than hidden: a Premium launch carries a gold verified badge so nobody has to guess why it is where it is.

How the backlink is earned

A free launch keeps a dofollow link for as long as the UppLaunch badge is live on the product’s own site, which is checked automatically. Take the badge down and the link reverts to nofollow. Premium and Premium+ launches are always dofollow and need no badge.

Who runs it

UppLaunch is built and run by Sofia Erin. It is a small independent project, not a company with a support department — questions go to the same person who writes the code.
